After lots of rain

The tomato and pepper plants are doing well in my yard.

The cucumbers, squash, and zucchini are growing like weeds.

The marigold plants are beautiful.  I can’t wait to see them in bloom.

My lemon tree continues to thrive and has two lemons started.

Some of the herbs are thriving, others haven’t even sprouted, and even though I didn’t plant it, spearmint is growing in one pot.

I took a few pictures of my dad’s garden as well.  The broccoli and brussels sprouts are doing really well.  The green beans have started to climb.  The tomato plants don’t look bad but they don’t seem to have grown as much as I expected them to since last time I saw them.  The basil isn’t doing very well and the radishes aren’t forming bulbs.  We probably need to add more organic material to the soil which is very clay like before next growing season.

On an unrelated note, we have a nest with three baby robins in our backyard.  The mom and dad have been very vocal about defending the next.  I had to find a time when they were both out searching for worms to get some pictures of the babies.  Enjoy!
